history

Three moms. One big idea.
LolliLocks was founded in 2001 by three Colorado moms driven to re-envision the children’s hair salon industry. Tammy Rohde, Anne Franklin and Martine Yano, each a mother of three, were frustrated with long lines, less-than-clean conditions, tepid customer service and lack of kid-focused employees and schematics at other chain hair salons. The tight-knit team pooled their talents in business, cosmetology, marketing and accounting to invent a completely fresh concept. Rather than offering adult cuts along side of children’s cuts, the LolliLocks mission was to establish a truly unique and exclusive kids-only hair salon that both children and parents would appreciate and anticipate coming to.

Following a lengthy research process and long hours of planning after the kids went to bed, these ingenious moms created a model that worked. From its opening day, LolliLocks has been overwhelmed by enormous and positive customer response. Referrals at play groups and throughout the community quickly created a suburban buzz that has yet to die down. To manage all of its clients, LolliLocks encourages appointments, which has made life easier for everyone involved. Stylists expect and greet returning children, kids don’t get tired waiting in line for a haircut and parents get in, out and on with their busy lives in a convenient, stress-free manner.
